Parking Etiquette at Drive-In Movies
Drive-in movies are fun. Plus, they are a lot more affordable than watching movies in a theatre. But to make the most out of your drive-in movie experience, you have to observe basic rules in courtesy. If you have a huge SUV, for example, be considerate to your neighbours. If the vehicle parked behind you is much smaller, ask if your giant monster of a car is obstructing their view. If it is, then park somewhere else. Playing loud music while the movie is playing is also rude beyond belief.
You should also be careful that your headlights are not distracting anyone. You can bring blankets or whatever material you think is appropriate for covering your lights. Additionally, engines should be turned off when watching a drive-in movie. The sound of a humming motor can be quite annoying though most people keep their engines running to use the heater or air conditioner. However, you can opt to bring blankets and sweaters instead. For summer nights, wear light clothing, turn down your windows, and bring hand-held battery-powered fans.
When bringing pets or children, it is your responsibility to make sure that they do not get too rowdy and disturb other moviegoers. Make sure that they are well-behaved all throughout the movie by keeping them interested in what they are watching. However, if they cannot manage it, then it would be a better idea not to bring them along with you. By keeping these things in mind, you can prevent yourself from getting kicked out or, worse, banned indefinitely from drive-in theatres.
